Well, tomorrow I disappear northwards for the rest of the month. I'll be working at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival; here,
specifically. I'm really hoping I can set something up with my ancient
laptop and a wifi card - anyone know of any insecure wireless networks
in Edinburgh's New Town? ;) But it seems fairly unlikely that I'll get
decent access even if I can get that sorted, so no gaming, possibly no
IMing, but at least the bare minimum service from one of the cybercafes
I've previously frequented in the city.
Had a picnic with R today and went rowing on the university lake; it
was a lot of fun, and I really wish we did more together. The rowing
was especially good, particularly after I coughed and pointed out that,
er, really, the pointy end should be going forward.
After we switched places, it took me a few minutes, but rowing ability
returned and I made decent progress down the lake before we turned to
head back.
Saw D2 when I popped out for speedy food shopping last night, bleh. The
briefest of glances was exchanged, and then total blankness. I try to
convince myself that someday we'll talk just as easily as we used to,
but I wonder if that will ever be true.
I'll miss you all a lot; to anyone fancying a trip to
the festivals, I'll have a spare room for part of the month, so give me
a call and I'll see what I can set up.
